Point Tool is a free enhanced point tool that does not involve the native measure\tape tool in Sketchup.
It puts a point at a starting point and will continue adding points as you click on different locations.
This free extension allows you to open SketchUp drawings saved in a newer version. For instance, when you run the free copy of SketchUp 2017 Make you would not be able to open a file saved in a newer version of SketchUp without this extension.
